Key Stage One SATs
During the month of May Year Two will take a set of SATs papers. These are used as a way of assessing the children’s competencies and abilities as the end their time in
Key Stage One.
There are five papers in total. A Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation Paper (GPS), Two reading papers and two Maths papers. The outcomes of these tests are used to support the Teacher’s Assessments which will be used as each child’s end of Key Stage outcome. There are certain criteria which a child has to meet to be deemed as working at Age Related Expectations in Reading, Writing and Maths.
To assess the children’s competences in writing the teacher will gather evidence for this during the Spring and Summer Term.
Please see see the link is below to the criteria which will be used by the class teacher as well as previous SATs papers.
If you have any questions or worries concerning the SATs please do speak to Miss Barker. They really are nothing to worry about and the children won’t even know it’s a test!
