Handwriting

As part of the end of Key Stage 2 writing assessment, children need to be able to maintain legibility in joined handwriting when writing at speed. We will have sessions in school to practise handwriting, however if you wish to practise your handwriting at home, the following website has lots of useful resources to help you do this:

https://www.teachhandwriting.co.uk/handwriting-join-continuous-cursive-letters.html

Once children have consistently demonstrated joined, cursive handwriting in all of their written work, a pen licence will be awarded in a celebration assembly and children will be given a handwriting pen to use. They may also bring in their own pen to use, providing that it is a black ink or ball-point pen (no biros please).
